4–5 September 2027 | Manchester | 15K & 5K — Both Days

Manchester, we’re coming back for more mud!

After the cold, wet, muddy adventure of 2026, when I completed six runs over two days, I’m returning to Manchester for another full weekend of Tough Mudder.

This time, there’s no elaborate endurance challenge planned, no ridiculous target for the number of finishes, and hopefully no unexpected detours around the course! Just four runs across the weekend, plenty of mud, and the opportunity to enjoy everything that makes Tough Mudder special.

Well, that’s the plan anyway. 😅

Bringing the Prickle Crew to Manchester! 🦔💛

What makes this weekend particularly special is that all four runs will be Prickle Crew events!

The Prickle Crew is all about bringing people together, whether you’re tackling your very first Tough Mudder, returning for another adventure, or simply looking for some friendly faces to share the mud with.

I’ll be taking part in both the 15K and 5K on Saturday and Sunday, and I’d love to see other members of the crew joining me.

There’s no expectation to be the fastest, strongest or most experienced. It’s about getting involved, encouraging each other, overcoming obstacles and having a great time along the way.

If you’re planning to take part in Manchester, why not join the Prickle Crew? You can find out more about the community, our planned runs and how to join us at prickle-crew.uk.

The Weekend Ahead

Four runs, two days, plenty of obstacles and, hopefully, plenty of familiar and new faces.

Manchester 2026 was about testing my endurance. Manchester 2027 is about sharing the experience.

Of course, with Tough Smudge, there’s always the possibility of another slightly questionable idea appearing before September…

Endure. Overcome. Make It Count.

MUDOMINATION AWAITS! 🦔💛

Grasmere Wild Trail Runs

Another trip to the Lake District, but this time the running shoes are coming with me.

The Grasmere Wild Trail Runs have been on my radar as exactly the sort of event that fits into the Tough Smudge journey. It isn't an obstacle race and it isn't about chasing a flat-road 10K time. This is about getting more experience running properly off-road, dealing with hills, changing surfaces and the sort of terrain that makes ten kilometres feel very different from ten kilometres on tarmac.

Tough Mudder: London West 2027

The first major endurance rehearsal. Tough Smudge heads to London West for an eight-hour Infinity on Saturday, before returning on Sunday for both the 15K and 5K. The Infinity target isn't a distance award. It's to complete the experience, learn from it and discover how much is left when it's time to go again.

Tough Mudder: London South 2026

The Tough Smudge journey heads to Holmbush Estate for Tough Mudder London South 2026. Another 15K, another 20+ obstacles and another chance to build experience, endurance and resilience on the road to World's Toughest Mudder 2027.
