Kiss of Mud
Crawling · Mud
Not much mud, bit dry, but guess if you’re doing a Tough Mudder, you should get muddy.
Lumberjacked
Climbing
There must a technique to this, but I stepped onto one fo the supports, used it as a step to make the hurdle over much easier.
Twinkle Toes
Balance
I have no balance. Was a bit miffed, helped one person across. No one came to give me assistance.
Mudderhorn
Climbing
It’s a great climbing frame, and with a foot-up from a TM Friend, not hard.
Trench Warfare
Crawling
The large stones were the main obstacle here. Not hard, just uncomfortable / painful.
Pyramid Scheme
Climbing
Someone at the bottom gave me a foot up, someone at the top took my hand. Not too hard with a little help from your TM friends
Arctic Enema
Water
Goggles on. No biggy. Nice and refreshing on such a warm day
Hangin’ Tough
Hanging / grip
Skipped this as I had lost by wrist bands on the previous obstacle, so went to talk to the marshals.
Sack Up
Carry
Let’s following the Duke of York’s example and march em up to the top of the hill, and march them back down…..with a bag of gravel on your shoulders.
Swamp Stomp
Other
Didn’t even notice this obstacle, probably because it was so dry.
Cliffhanger
Hanging / grip
Inclined wall, climb up the incline, get over the top. Ddin’t present much of an issue. But interesting none the less.
Walk This Way
Other
A board with ropes. Can see this being a challenge with others, as a solo runner, on my own…really easy.
Devil’s Beard
Climbing
Oh look, there is a cargo net stapled to the ground. Crawl under. Not hard, it was a hill so really easy. Didn’t crawl, on hands and feet in, angled head as a slope, shot up the hill. Easy
Just the Tip
Hanging / grip
This surprised me. Loved this as I did it really easily and felt a massive sense of accomplishment after.
Everest
Walls
With no one around to help at the top, gave this 4 goes. On the fourth attempt got close to catching the bar at the top, but slid down on my knees, and as it was dry, the surface was like sand paper. The first TM Injury of my career.
Hero Walls
Walls
The TM Volunteer gave me a foot up oveer these. Don’t like, too simple, and for a short guy with weak upper body strength, not a good obstacle
Pole Dancer
Strength
Lacking upper body strength, technique, exhausted, and there was a crowd of spectators. Half heartedly tried, but quickly moved on
Killa Gorilla
Climbing
Completely missed this….I blame the sign posting, but also my legs were giving me considerable cramping due to the hill that I had climbed getting to Mud Mile before.
The Block Ness Monster
Water
Love this. Team work and technique are the key, and being a solo runner this means I have to join a team of strangers. Excellent obstacle
Electroshock Therapy
Electrical
Bit pointless at Yorkshire. There was a strong wind so the tenticles were hiorizontal. Just a casual walk through this one.
