THE RESULT

The most important statistic from Yorkshire is a simple one:

15K COMPLETED

I crossed the finish having completed my first Tough Mudder.

There was no target time and no attempt to race the clock. The objective was to experience the course, understand the demands of Tough Mudder and find out whether this was something I wanted to do again.

The answer to the last question became clear fairly quickly.

Yes.

WHAT THIS RESULT MEANT

Yorkshire was much more than another 15 kilometres.

It established a starting point.

Before Broughton Hall, World’s Toughest Mudder was not part of the plan. Neither were Infinity events, double-header weekends or building an entire series of challenges around Tough Mudder.

Yorkshire changed the scale of the ambition.

The first result therefore matters because everything else on this results page will ultimately be measured from here.

Starting point: 15K.

The job now is to see how far that can go.

WHAT COMES NEXT

The next stage is about adding distance, learning how to recover between events and gradually building the endurance required for much longer challenges.

Yorkshire was the first finish line.

It certainly will not be the last.
